St. Mary's University is presenting a free speakers series Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 PM.  Below is the preview of the March 15 book launch called From Cell to Sanity: National Panel on Corrections, Mental Health and Social Justice.  The talk is free but you need to register.

Book Launch: From Cell to Sanity, by Paul LaPointe with Susan Scott

Join us for a panel discussion on mental health, corrections and social justice to launch the book From Cell to Sanity by Paul LaPointe with Susan Scott. The panel includes

  • Howard Sapers, Independent Advisor on Corrections Reform to the Ontario Government.
  • Kim Pate, Senator and advocate for marginalized youth, men and women.
  • Tim Richter, President + CEO of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness.
  • Frank Cattoni, Executive Director SORCe – a Collaboration

The panel discussion will be moderated by Louise Bradley, President and CEO of the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

The book, From Cell to Sanity, outlines Paul’s life living with undiagnosed bi-polar disorder that drove him to many bizarre and desperate actions. Paul LaPointe will be signing copies following the panel discussion. Books will be available for purchase onsite.
