Please join us for the 10th Anniversary Dinner for Humanities 101 on November 21st, 2019!
The Humanities 101 program brings free, university level courses to people who have experienced barriers such as poverty, abuse, addiction, homelessness, and interruptions to their education. The Humanities 101 program works with community organizations and social service agencies to nurture passion and to provide a healthy and supportive environment where a student can experience the excitement and benefits of a post-secondary education. Graduates of the program have gone on to pursue higher education while others have become actively engaged within their communities – further demonstrating how this program has become a pillar of our commitment to student success and community engagement. Through donor support, St. Mary’s University is able to meet the needs of our participants by offering free tuition, learning materials such as books and journals, childcare for those who need it, field trips, and even nutritious food before each class. With your support, we are changing the lives of vulnerable individuals, reflecting the heart of St. Mary’s: social justice and commitment to the community. We are proud to help marginalized people re-enter the academy, the workforce, and society.
All Proceeds from the Anniversary Dinner support the Humanities 101 program’s efforts to help learners to discover their full potential, and assist them to re-enter the academy, the workforce, and society.
