On May 2, 2024, a gala tribute dinner will be held at the Chateau Lacombe to honor the contributions of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate to the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton.
Ron Rolheiser, OMI will be present to make the keynote address. Proceeds from the event will support the Star of the North Retreat Centre – an Oblate ministry of OMI Lacombe Canada.
It is hoped that the event will serve to thank and bless the OMI Lacombe Canada Community of Oblates for their service to our community and support one of their current ministries - the Star of the North Retreat Centre.
The gathering will provide an opportunity to socialize with people who share the same values and beliefs. The host and recipient of the proceeds, the Star of the North, was established by the Oblates 70 years ago and remains a vital part of our church community. It offers retreats and workshops, inspired by the Oblate charism, on themes of contemplation, justice, ecumenism, interfaith and intercultural dialogue, ecological conversion, and raising awareness of the options for the poor.
